About Coaching

What is Life Coaching?

Coaches help people like you:

  • Establish priorities
  • Set goals
  • Maneuver through life’s transitions
  • Make important changes
  • Lower stress
  • Create action plans and more

So how does coaching really work?

  • Coaching is the art of helping people grow and maximize their God given potential without telling them what to do.
  • In a coaching relationship, you choose what you want to work on, you set your own goals and actions—in other words, you are always in charge.

What I bring to the table as a coach is a set of professional skills for helping you identify what you really want in life, design action plans to reach those goals, and encourage you to get those things done.

For example: You are a stay-at-home mom. You have several pre-school age children. Lately the noise, caring for the constant needs, the intensity of little ones all day long by yourself, is blowing to “smithereens” your plan to be the kind, compassionate, patient mother you always hoped to be. There is no time. Some days you barely get dressed enough to be presentable. You have no patience anymore. Your sweet little babies are toddling and into everything, most of the day they are whiny, and downright mean to each other. Your tolerance for the noise, chaos and disobedient children has you at your wits end. “It wasn’t supposed to be this way.” your mind screams. You hoped to raise kind, compassionate, obedient and responsible children.

I can help. I can come along side you in your pursuit to raise children that are compassionate, obedient and responsible. Together, we can establish your desired goals as mother. By using assessments, homework assignments, study of God’s word, prayer and encouragement you can get on the path to order in your home.

Coaching vs. Other Disciplines

You might ask, how is coaching different than mentoring or counseling? Where mentors give wise advice based on their own experience, coaches help guide you Often the biggest obstacle to our dreams isn’t knowing what to do. It’s having the self-confidence to do it! Coaches have mastered the art of believing in people instead of telling them what to do.

A counselor’s goal is to move hurting people toward wholeness, coaches help people who are basically whole maximize their lives.

Counseling focuses on the past, but coaching focuses on the future.

Over and over, people who work with a great coach find they can reach higher and accomplish more than they ever thought they could on their own in a shorter amount of time.
